My practice stays open to error, deviation, and the unexpected. The images carry a formal rigor inherited from my years as a graphic designer — a rigor that has loosened over time, slowly and deliberately, until error became something I work with rather than correct.
The work begins with what gets thrown away — not only objects, but the wider gesture of deciding what counts and what is allowed to disappear from view. Consumption leaves behind mountains of things we stop seeing; the same logic is at work when a society pushes to the margins the people who do not fit what it takes for granted. I am less interested in delivering a verdict than in slowing that disappearance down long enough to look.
